Coming out of the same Tokai Gakki factory that now produces for the Fender Japan brand, this guitar’s six figure serial number indicates it was specifically made to replicate the vintage Strats from the late 60’s period. The Tuners and Bridge are stamped as others say theirs are from Japan as well. Renamed from “Springy Sound” to “Goldstar Sound” in 1984 right after the lawsuit era surrounding the legal backlash, the Goldstar Sound is essentially the same guitar of the same build quality as that which was made famous of its predeccesor. If you’re a fanatic of that era in the 70’s when Tokai made Strat replicas better than their Fender counterparts, this Goldstar Sound may be of interest to you. ![]()
